Federal prosecutors want the $9,000 they say was used to bribe former Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin White in a sting involving bribes for preferential treatment on a towing contract.

White was convicted in November of six fraud counts for taking bribes and one count of making false statements to a federal agent.

Jurors found that White took thousands of dollars from a federal undercover agent in return for using his political influence to try to get wrecker companies approved for a towing rotation used by law enforcement.

He also was convicted for denying to the FBI that he had taken money from an undercover agent between 2009 and 2011.

The motion says White has agreed to repay $6,000, money he received directly from the FBI agent, but hasn't agreed to return $3,000 paid by another party to a co-conspirator and relative of White.

White's sentencing is set for March 12.
