Death of Tampa woman under investigation

Hillsborough County officials say a woman found dead in her home was the victim of a homicide.
The body of Nancy Grooms, 52, was found at her 920 E. 122nd Avenue home at 11:35 a.m. Sunday by a friend.
The friend, whose identity has not been released because he is considered a witness, checked on Grooms after not hearing from her for an extended period. Once the friend entered the duplex, he found Grooms' body.
According to officials, Grooms' body suffered upper body trauma and she had been dead for at least two days. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death will take place Monday.
