TAMPA - Some rainy, cooler weather will dampen plans for those hoping to attend the Florida State Fair tonight.

Rain will move into the Tampa Bay area today and last through Saturday morning, when cold air will move in, said Leigh Spann, meteorologist for News Channel 8.

"We're going to start seeing much chillier air," Spann said.

A few showers could move into the region this morning, and rain chances will increase as the day progresses, Spann said.

By 3 p.m., most of the area will be wet and showers will linger overnight.

Many Hillsborough County students have the day off for Fair Day.

    The fair opened on Thursday.

Temperatures will reach the mid-70s today and drop to the low 60s overnight, Spann said.

Saturday's high temperatures will reach the low 70s and drop into the low 40s overnight. Sunday's high is only expected to reach 63 degrees.
