Public television celebrity chef Nick Stellino rolled through Tampa on a promotional tour in 2009, cooking a wine dinner and hosting a demonstration at Armani's. Stellino was a big hit, and his legion of female fans was swooning at his Italian accent and delicious recipes.

Stellino's latest public television series, "Nick Stellino Cooking with Friends 2," is airing nationwide and has an accompanying cookbook with the same name.

One recipe from the book and TV show you might want to try making is the one for Chili-Spiced Burgers. If you're looking to pair it with wine, go bold with a big-flavored bottle of Elements Cabernet Sauvignon by Artesa.

To order the book, go to www.nickstellinocookingwithfriends.com.

    Corn recipe found

Phyllis B. Ladd of Princeton, Ky., wrote to ask for recipes she enjoyed eating with her husband at a restaurant called Charlie's in Sebring. Included in that was a request for a corn chowder she had at Charlie's.

Longtime RL&F contributor Joan Holshue wrote to say she didn't have the Charlie's recipe, but she did offer two from a Pennsylvania Dutch cookbook she owns.

    Onion soup cheese

Norm Banaszak of Tampa asks if anyone remembers the type of cheese used in the French onion soup that was served at the now-defunct Floyd's restaurant at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Gina Morales, the Seminole Hard Rock's public relations manager, tells me that it was gruyere cheese, Norm.

    Ruskin apple pie request

An anonymous reader emailed last week to ask, "I am looking for the apple pie recipe which they served at the old Coffee Cup Restaurant in Ruskin. It was awesome; I traveled there during my rounds as a home health nurse."

Can anyone help her or offer a suitable substitute?

    Leftover requests

Connie Rott wants the fried beef tips recipe served with yellow rice at J.D.'s in Ybor City.

Lesa Harvill of Tampa is looking for the recipe for the coleslaw from Bojangles' Famous Chicken & Biscuits.

Andy Herd of Spring Hill wants the fried chicken coating mix used at Golden Skillet. He also wants the recipe for the Cajun pinto beans from the Bojangles' chicken franchise.

Kathy Freeman of Lake Placid is looking to make the fluffy coconut dessert served at the Fred's restaurant chain in Plant City, Lakeland and Winter Haven.

Ethyle Hanson wants the recipe for the former Aunt Hattie's chicken dumplings.
