    Dance and dine: A dinner dance will be hosted by Knights of Columbus Council 6476 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4843 Mile Stretch Drive, Holiday, with the doors opening at 4 p.m. with dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Dancing follows to the music of Steve Daniels.     Fish fry: Trinity Church of Wesley Chapel will hold its monthly fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fellowship hall, 33425 State Road 54. Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $6 per person and the meal includes fried or baked fish, french fries or potato salad, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. Chicken fingers can be substituted for the fish.     Find some treasures: The New Port Richey Garden Club will hold a plant and Grandma's Treasures sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday at 10271 Casey Drive. The sale will feature unusual and favorite plants, annual and perennials, exotic plants, butterfly plants, bromeliads and more. Grandma's treasures will have a variety of things for sale.     Hear some Americana: Stringbreak Music Fest will be held today through Sunday at Sertoma Youth Ranch, northwest of Dade City off County Road 41. The multistage Americana music festival will feature roots rock, alternative country, newgrass and bluegrass music. Music hours are 1 p.m. through midnight today; 11 a.m. through midnight Saturday; and 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. Sunday.

    Adult tickets are $30 for today; $40 for all day Saturday; $20 for 5 p.m. until closing Saturday; and $15 Sunday. A full-festival ticket for youth ages 14 through 18 are $25.     Roll the dice: Tickets are available for a casino night being held by the Zephyrhills High School Bulldog Booster Club at Silverado Golf and Country Club. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with games beginning at 7. The cost is $50 a person and includes $2,500 in "play money." Hors d'oeuvres will be served with a cash bar.     Get a taste: The Leadership Pasco Class of 2011 is sponsoring Taste of Pasco, a food sampling event, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Rotary Pavilion at the Concourse on State Road 52 about one-quarter mile west of the Suncoast Parkway.     Take in a play: The New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St., will present a staged reading of the play "Jack Buchanan – Rough Cut, a Work in Progress" at 3 p.m. The one-act play offers a humorous and touching glimpse at pursuing the balance between art and life.

    Find a friend: Harley-Davidson of New Port Richey, 5817 S.R. 54, will host an adoption event to benefit the SPCA Suncoast from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations being accepted are: bleach, liquid laundry detergent, paper towels, old towels and sheets.     Keep them safe: The Pilot Club of Zephyrhills will host the fifth Children's Health and Safety Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Zephyr Park, 38116 Fifth Ave. The event will include a moonwalk, giant slide, snow cones and snacks, and giveaways of child car safety seats, bicycles and more. Vendors will distribute health and safety information for children. The event is sponsored by Florida Medical Clinic Foundation of Caring.

    Toss for a cause: San Ann Liquors and Lounge, 32625 S.R. 52, San Antonio, will host a corn toss event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 7 to benefit the Sean Smith Memorial Fund. Smith was a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer who died this year after falling from a tree stand during a hunting trip. Smith, who was 39 and lived in Wesley Chapel, left behind a wife and two sons. Entry fee for each team is $50.

    Naples night: The Katelyn Foundation will hold its annual pasta dinner "A Night in Naples — in Trinity" from 6 to 10 p.m. May 6 at the Phi Delta Kappa Banquet Hall, 11301 Phi Delt Way in the West Pasco Industrial Plaza.

    The Katelyn Foundation pays for swim lessons to underprivileged children ages 6 months to 12 years old. Tickets for the event are $20 for adults, and $10 for children.
